Feathr: Mario

My next step was then to move on from the retro style and recreate the cape feather. I did like the original pattern so I kept that. Using the NES palette I re-created the colours to fit the NES style.
I knew that I wanted the background to be Mario iconic blue. So I immediately set that as the background colour. I kept the feather its original colours of orange, yellow and black.

However, I then began experimenting with different colours within the palette. I really enjoyed the effect that the pattern gave. happy with the shapes it was creating I then had to find colours I was happy with. The yellow was too jarring against the blue background, and didn't follow a specific reference picture.

I then began experimenting with other colours, the oranges found in the ground colour were too dark and not flattering against the blue background. From there I went on to experiment with and the greens found in the famous pipes within Mario as well as trees, bushes and other sprites. I liked the inclusion of the green and decided to keep this and continue in the blue/green colour scheme.
