To add another element of restrain to this project, I've decided to limit myself on my palette. In wrote about my obsession with the colours used in said games so it only makes sense for me to stick to those. The NES used an 8-bit microprocessor. 8-bit processor provides its colour graphics so that each pixel is represented by one 8-bit byte. The NES used the Picture Processing Unit, had a 64 colour palette, of which nine are duplicates and one being out of the analog television's gamut, giving a total of 54 useful colours.
CMYK Versions |
I will have to transfer these RGB colours to CMYK, taking into consideration that their final form will be printed wallpaper. This will make the colour show quite dull compared to web comparisons/reference pictures, this should be kept in mind.
