The CND logo is often associated with Lennon and other activist artists of the time. It symbolised the cease of nuclear weapons. Also his glasses have become a 'symbol' (if you will) to represent him. They were instantly recognisable and a clear feature of the late musician. Other images include, murals, artists, the CND, love and other symbols of the 'hippie movement', a liberal counterculture, youth movement that started in the United States and United Kingdom during the mid-1960s and spread to other countries around the world.
