Student Elections: Footprint Meeting Gone Wrong
Beth set up a meeting for today with someone from Footprint named James. He was an ex-student of LCA and seemed very enthusiastic to meet us and help us out.
We walked for what felt like miles to Chapletown and when we got there, we were told that James wasn't there and that he hadn't turned up today and that he was probably ill. We tried to explain whom we were and what we needed with James but the person we spoke to seemed to have no interest in wanting to know why we were there.
Beth even offered to leave her number so that someone could call her when James got there or someone could follow up with us but they just told her to re-email James.
I honestly found it very off-putting. The woman we spoke with was disinterested and seemed bothered by our presence. I decided that its not what I really wanted to work with, thinking about the future, and based on todays behaviour, I feel like trying to get in touch and ask for changes would have become hassle and difficult.
Also looking around at their set-up seems very small, niche & unorganized. It made me question if they'd be able to handle the bulk that we wanted, as well as the deadlines etc.
I think the option now is to go away and find other options for where we should have our printing done, also what were going to do in terms of having our hearts set on risograph.
Though it was an unfortunate meeting but it something to take into account for future endeavours. Also, that not all things go to plan so always have a back up.
